The end of an adventure...

This is with great sadness that we announce Cymellia Limited is closing.

However, please note that "Cymellia" is also a registered trademark. Our website will therefore remain open, as the official website for anything Cymellia (music, animation and software).

Music that was released through Cymellia Limited will be removed from all streaming platforms in a timely manner.

The Aywutyr, Meowlina and Valentay are saying goodbye...for now. They are currently living on the Ay's planet, and will come back on Earth at some point in the future.

Since its creation on October 7th 2015, Cymellia has continuously evolved.

While in its early days Cymellia was focusing on online entertainment, creating websites which were aiming at helping artists share their work with the world, a change of direction has been made in 2018.

Due to complicated matters, Cymellia has decided to indefinitely postpone the websites which were being developed : Meovely, Cymtertainment and Cymellia Music.

With the will to change of direction and as an artist at heart, in 2018, Cymellia founder and CEO, Mélina J, has decided to learn how to make animation. This was the start of a new era for Cymellia. And the birth of our beloved animation characters the Aywutyr, Meowlina and Valentay.

In 2018, Cymellia has also decided to reinforce its focus on music. Making music its core activity, along with animation.

Mélina J has decided to deepen her knowledge in animation making throughout 2019.

As stated before, Cymellia and Cymellia artists have their own vision of music. Cymellia artists do not feel the need to work per album or EP, they make and release tracks individually.

Cymellia music is available digitally, however, as time has passed, as digital music is anchored in our lifestyle, and in order to go green, Cymellia artists do not release music on CDs nor cassettes.

This hasn't changed and should not change.

 

So, you may ask, what is changing in 2020 ?

In the past, our founder and CEO, Mélina J, explained that Cymellia does not make music videos. Unlike our peers, Cymellia is not a movie making company, we therefore do not make music videos nor short movies.

However, since Cymellia has changed of direction in 2018, things are now different : while Cymellia is not a movie making company and will not film music videos, Cymellia is now making animation and will make animated music videos.

While new music releases will not automatically have a music video, you can expect an animated music video from times to times.

Our music videos will of course be available for tv broadcasting. You can get a general idea of our licensing agreement by reading our licensing agreement for radio broadcasting, as they are basically similar. You can contact us for any further inquiry.

 

 

About copyright (commercial use)

Let's talk about copyright and licensing for commercial use.

Pictures of Mélina J and Baby Dog :

Mélina J owns the copyright of her pictures. Cymellia has the ability to license pictures of Mélina J for commercial use. Please note that neither Mélina J nor Cymellia will grant a “right to use Mélina J's image”. We only grant licenses to use specified pictures.

At this point of time, we do not have HD pictures of Mélina J which could be used as posters. Most pictures of Mélina J are not HD.

Mélina J owns the copyright for Baby Dog's pictures. Cymellia has the ability to license pictures of Baby Dog for commercial use. Please note that neither Mélina J nor Cymellia will grant a “right to use Baby Dog's image”. We only grant licenses to use specified pictures.

Other Cymellia artists :

Dreamy Z, Golden Tiger, Jarany, Mr Computer, and the new recruits of 2019 do not wish to be public figures. We should respect their decision. Their pictures are thus not available. However, official icons (such as animation characters) will replace their pictures. You can contact us for licensing agreements.

Please do not speculate on their identity, none of them are “previously famous under other names”. This type of discussion should be prohibited, as it's not in any way true.

Depending on the use of the pictures, they can be licensed for free or for a fee.

The Aywutyr, Meowlina, Valentay and other animation characters :

The pictures of animation characters available at www.cymellia-pictures.me/shop are for non-commercial use only. If you need a commercial license for pictures of the animation characters, you can contact us.

At some point in the future, we will grant licensing agreements for merchandising and broadcasting.

Cymellia will not contact broadcasting companies until the first season of the Aywutyr is made. However, if you are interested into licensing 1 episode at a time, you can contact us.

Cymellia does not accept pre-orders for episodes. We will only license for broadcasting the episodes and seasons which are already made.

We're often asked about copyright and fanart, what is allowed and what is not.

First, let's talk about non-commercial use.

Non-commercial means that you are making something as a hobby, for fun and for free.

Fanart :

Fanart is of course allowed. You are allowed to post pictures and gifs of Mélina J and Baby Dog on your blog or social media.

You can also post drawings of Mélina J and Baby Dog.

For general guidelines about the dos and don'ts, you can use Cymellia Pictures license agreement : https://www.cymellia-pictures.me/license-agreement/, part 2 and 3 as reference and for reference only. (However, remember that here, we are here talking about non-commercial use only).

Fanart of other Cymellia artists :

You can post on social media and your blog, pictures that have been released by Cymellia for free. You are allowed to make fan-made drawings, however, they must be clearly stamped as “fan made” and should be clarified as fan-made and not affiliated with Cymellia.

Fanmade theories and fanart must remain harmonious.

Music :

You can use our music previews for free for fan made videos or for non-commercial videos, such as tutorials (makeup tutorial, software tutorials). The track title and the artist name must be credited in the video and credits. You can also credit Cymellia as the music label.

By music previews, we mean the music extracts that are posted on www.cymellia.me and on our Dailymotion channel (which are the same). You cannot use the full songs.

If you wish to use the full songs, you will need to purchase a license from us, through www.cymellia-pictures.me or by contacting us.

If you are related to a Linux distribution and would like to use a full song from a Cymellia artist for a Linux distribution related project (tutorial, advertisement), you are welcome to contact us directly.
